John Richardson, a.k.a. The Ugley Vicar, R.I.P.

Very sad news for Anglicans and all faithful believers everywhere, reported by Lee Gattiss of the Church Society.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but our good friend and faithful minister of the gospel, John Richardson, died this morning after recent illness. Please do pray particularly for his wife Alison at this tremendously sad time.

John, AKA "The Ugley Vicar" was a member of Church Society Council, and one of the founders of JAEC (the Junior Anglican Evangelical Conference). He has now gone to be with the Lord he served so well, to receive the "Well done, good faithful servant" he looked forward to so much.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” (Revelation 14:13)

Archbishop of Canterbury's statement on the passing of Baroness Margaret Thatcher

Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, issued this statement on the death of Margaret Thatcher:
It was with sadness that I heard the news of the death of Baroness Thatcher and my prayers are with her son and daughter, her grandchildren, family and friends. It is right that today we give thanks for a life devoted to public service, acknowledging also the faith that inspired and sustained her.

In Memoriam

“Ours is one of the mildest, most benevolent governments in the world. But it too has the power to take your wealth and forfeit your life. ... A government that can give you everything can take everything away.”

Robert Novak 1931-2009
H/T to David Browder for the quote.
Post-Script: LifeNews.com pays tribute to Novak, including his contribution to the pro-life movement and his conversion from Judaism to Catholicism.

Christmas at Arlington National Cemetery

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell...
