Oh no! Puppets again!

General George Patton once said something to the effect, "If everybody is thinking the same thing, somebody is not thinking." That is certainly the case in the dying liberal churches where everybody seems to be thinking the road to resuscitation is trod by giant, garish puppets. We have already seen the circus performance put on by the Presbyterians at their recent General Assembly and a greying UCC congregation's theater of the absurd.

But this latest discovery by MCJ may be the worst one yet.

Coming at Pentecost 2010: St. Michael’s Grand Puppet Opera for the Environment

Through a collaboration between Dana Rohn, Rev. Jennings Matheson and Marguerite Mullee, our latest offering is now being born. A dramatic opera with full choir, organ and other instruments, a libretto written by our priest, music specially arranged by our music director and brand new, spectacular colossal AND shadow puppets designed by our puppet director and built by our amazing crew of puppeteers! Don’t miss this inspiring spectacle conceived to dramatize the urgency of the plight of our planet and its creatures.
