Some of the comments on the rebel site SBC Outpost are downright hilarious. So, for all of us who are suffering from the angst of our own denominational squabbles, here's a chance to have a few good-natured laughs at the expense of our Baptist friends.

A Few Laughs, Courtesy of Our Baptist Friends
I must confess total ignorance about the issues involved in the latest Southern Baptist dust-up. Apparently, some immersionites are upset with Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Paige Patterson's financial and employment practices. There's a lot of chatter around the web about a lawsuit filed by a former professor who was terminated, apparently, because she was, well, a she. But what's really stirred up a fuss is the unveiling of Patterson's official presidential portrait in the seminary rotunda. Questions are being raised about the price involved in commissioning such a painting. Some have also questioned why Patterson chose a companion other than his wife to pose with him.
