Just received from the CANA East Diocese of the Anglican Church of Nigeria through the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh, the Primate of all Nigeria:
Earlier today the Most Rev. Peter J. Akinola (primate-emeritus) and his driver were kidnapped outside the Peter Akinola Foundation in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Abeokuta is the capital city of Ogun State in southwest Nigeria.
Please pray for their safe and swift release.
UPDATE: It is now being reported that ++Akinola has been rescued. Thanks be to God!
