The cult of personality model of church leadership wreaks havoc wherever it is allowed to flourish. Joel Martin points to four odious examples, including the one which hits close to home. During the last few months, the Anglican realignment has had to navigate through some very rough seas. With the establishment of the North American Missionary District and what amounts to an ultimatum from PEAR to the "resigned" AMiA bishops, however, there is renewed hope for calmer waters in the coming months. As a new structure and strategy for mission emerge, it is appropriate to reflect on the need for genuine, humble, Christ-like leadership and how that type of leadership ought to look.
